Give a pop up typewriter card extra pizazz with Polished Metal Vinyl by StyleTech Craft. This is a sponsored post but all ideas and opinions are my own.

The second I saw this SVG file in the Silhouette Design Store I knew I HAD to have it! I love all things retro, especially stuff like typewriters, and this design by Tanya Batrak is really cute! I love to use Polished Metal vinyl from StyleTech Craft for retro projects like this one because the colors are the finishes really help bring the fun of past eras to life.

I cut the pieces from heavy duty cardstock first, and then cut them from the vinyl. After that I simply had to layer the vinyl on top of the cardstock before I assembled it. Next time I think I will try placing the vinyl onto the cardstock and cutting it all at once. I was having technical issues with my Cameo so I cut them separately this time, and it didn’t take long to put all the pieces together.

As I mentioned before, I cut the pieces from cardstock and from the vinyl, and then transferred the vinyl to the cardstock. You could skip a step and put the vinyl on the paper before you cut, just adjust your cutting machine accordingly.

I used clear transfer tape (also from StyleTech Craft) to apply the Polished Metal Vinyl to the cardstock. This made it easy to line it up perfectly. I had fun choosing the different colors for the flowers!

I followed the video instructions to assemble the card, and it was easier than I thought it would be! The file also came with the envelope. Can you believe this card folds flat so you can mail it? Who wouldn’t be delighted to get this beautiful, shiny card in the mail?
