Will this technique work on all types of adhesive vinyl?

Vinyl comes in many colors, combinations and textures. This technique is best used for smooth vinyls, like matte or glossy vinyls that are even on one side, and with smooth backing on the other side.

Textured vinyls might not easily adhere to these alternatives and may only wreak havoc to your design. Best to reserve the use of appropriate transfer paper to textured vinyls for your crafts.

Where else can I use this procedure?

If you are looking to apply a car decal, you can use the abovementioned procedure to apply vinyl project ideas to your car’s exterior, and even glass window.

You can also use this to create and apply simple labels on jars, glass, and mugs. Be careful when applying vinyl to contoured or curved surfaces.

However, these tape alternatives are not advisable to use for bulk stuff like labels. It is merely utilized as a stop-gap measure to get your projects done until you replenish your transfer tape stash.

What tape brand can I use?

You are free to use any tape brand available at home, or at your craft or dollar store. If it saves you some money, well and good.

What is the difference between transfer tape and vinyl?

The vinyl is where the image or design is placed straight from them being cut. Vinyl comes in different colors, brands, textures, and even color combinations. Transfer tape is merely a conduit that moves the vinyl design (point A) to the surface of your project (point B).

My vinyl won't stay on the item after I cleaned the area I applied the decal to.

It takes about 24 hours for vinyl to adhere to the surface of the item correctly. So if you wash or disturb the vinyl in any way, the vinyl may not want to stick to the thing anymore.

I put the item I designed in the dishwasher, and the vinyl is now peeling off! How can I s

Most vinyl can't survive the dishwasher. I would suggest washing your item by hand. Now, this is unless you are using a vinyl-like 751. You could also cover the thing with Mod Podge. This would seal the design making it dishwasher safe.

It really is just a question of individual needs and preferences. Some people believe that glossy sticker printer paper is more suitable for advertising purposes as it catches the eye, while matte sticker printer paper is used for needs that do not require making the sticker noticeable.

Glossy paper usually costs more than matte sticker printer paper.

What to do if the ink is rubbing off on the sticker paper while printing?

What to do if the ink is rubbing off on the sticker paper while printing?(图1)

This happens when adequate heat or pressure is not applied to the paper during printing. To troubleshoot this problem, one should set the printer setting to the correct media type/weight or change the setting to Label or Heavy paper if the printer consists of those options.

These settings actually slow down the printing process so that more heat and/or pressure is applied to the sticker printer paper.
